Authorized inventory

You must not:

  • place Google-served ads on a domain that uses ads.txt where you are not included as an authorized seller of the inventory in the ads.txt file. 

For syndication partners, Parents must ensure Children promptly add an ads.txt file to Child domains with Parents as authorized sellers of Child Inventory.

For subtitles in your language, turn on YouTube captions. Select the Settings icon 👁 Image of YouTube settings icon
found in the video player, then select Subtitles/CC and choose your language.


  • Publishers should use ads.txt files on their domains, and must ensure that they are included as authorized sellers of that inventory. For more information, refer to declare who is authorized to sell your inventory with ads.txt.
  • The ads.txt file can help buyers identify counterfeit inventory and help you receive more advertiser spend that might have otherwise gone toward that counterfeit inventory.
