Find what's changed in a site

You can review, compare, and restore changes made to sites in Google Sites.

Important: To browse a site's version history, you need permission to edit the site. Version history might only be available for some sites on Google Sites.

Find an earlier version

  1. On a computer, open Google Sites.
  2. In the top right, click More 👁 More
    👁 and then
    Version history.
  3. To find all edits from one day, go to the sidebar, and click Expand detailed versions 👁 Down Arrow
    .

Tip: To name a version, click More 👁 More
👁 and then
Rename. Then, enter a new name and click Save.

Restore an earlier version

  1. On a computer, open Google Sites.
  2. In the top right, click More 👁 More
    👁 and then
    Version history.
  3. In the right sidebar, click Expand detailed versions 👁 Down Arrow
    .
  4. Choose an earlier version you want to restore.
  5. At the top left, click Restore this site version 👁 and then
    Restore.

Tip: To return to the current version, go to the top left and click Back 👁 Back
.

Restore a single page from an earlier version

You can restore a specific page that might've changed or been deleted from a revision without needing to restore the whole site to that revision.

  1. On a computer, open Google Sites.
  2. In the top right, click More 👁 More
    👁 and then
    Version history.
  3. In the right sidebar, click Expand detailed versions 👁 Down Arrow
    .
  4. Choose an earlier version you want to restore.
  5. At the top left, click Restore this page version 👁 and then
    Restore page.

Tip: To return to the current version, go to the top left and click Back 👁 Back
