Loyalty cards & gift cards
In Google Wallet, you can store and use digital copies of your loyalty and gift cards. Loyalty cards also include rewards and membership cards.
Tip: You can also add, remove, or archive loyalty and gift cards from the Google Wallet website.
Add a loyalty card
- Open the Google Wallet app 👁 Image
. - Tap 👁 Image
👁 and then
Loyalty card. - Find and tap the merchant or loyalty program name.
- You can also search for the merchant or loyalty program name.
- On the merchant or loyalty program, you may follow the on-screen instructions to do any of the following:
- Scan your existing card
- Sign up for a new account
- Find your existing account
Tips:
- If you can’t find the merchant or loyalty program name when you search the app, it means that the merchant isn't supported.
- Loyalty cards can also be added directly from a partner issuer’s website or app. It can also be automatically imported with Gmail
Add a gift card
Important: Google Play gift cards aren't supported. If your gift card has an issuer logo, such as Mastercard or Visa, you must add it as a payment method.
- Open the Google Wallet app 👁 Image
. - Tap 👁 Image
👁 and then
Gift card. - Find and tap the merchant or gift card name.
- You can also search for the merchant or gift card name.
- You have the option to scan your gift card or enter the card info manually. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Tips:
- If you can’t find the merchant gift card name when you search the app, it means that the merchant isn't supported.
- Gift cards can also be added directly from a partner issuer’s website or app.
Use a loyalty card or gift card
- Open the Google Wallet app 👁 Image
. - Tap View more 👁 and then
View more passes.- Tip: Passes can be sorted alphabetically or by recently used. Alternatively, use the search bar to search for a specific gift card or loyalty card.
- Tap the loyalty card or gift card that you want to use./li>
- Ask the cashier to scan the barcode.
- If your loyalty program or gift card doesn’t have a barcode, provide your membership number to the cashier.
Tip: Some loyalty card programs let you tap your phone to the terminal to apply your loyalty card.
Remove a loyalty card or gift card
Important: When you remove a loyalty or gift card, the card only gets removed from Google Wallet. It doesn’t affect the balance of the gift card.
- Open the Google Wallet app 👁 Image
. - Tap View more 👁 and then
View more passes.- Tip: Passes can be sorted alphabetically or by recently used. Alternatively, use the search bar to search for a specific gift card or loyalty card.
- Tap the loyalty card or gift card you want to remove.
- At the top right, tap More 👁 More
. - Scroll to the bottom, tap Remove.
- To confirm, tap Remove.
Archive a loyalty card or gift card
Important: Archived cards are not removed or deleted.
To archive your pass:
- Open the Google Wallet app 👁 Image
. - Tap View more 👁 and then
View more passes.- Tip: Passes can be sorted alphabetically or by recently used. Alternatively, use the search bar to search for a specific gift card or loyalty card.
- Tap the loyalty card or gift card you want to archive.
- At the top right, tap More 👁 More
. - Scroll to the bottom, tap Archive.
- To confirm, tap Archive.
To find your archived passes:
- Open the Google Wallet app 👁 Image
. - Tap View more 👁 and then
View more passes.- Tip: Passes can be sorted alphabetically or by recently used. Alternatively, use the search bar to search for a specific gift card or loyalty card.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, tap Archive passes.
- Find and tap your archived pass.
- Tip: To unarchive, tap More 👁 More

Unarchive.

Fix problems
- There’s a limit as to how many gift cards you can add on the Google Wallet app.
- Within 30 days, you can add up to 10 cards total and 5 cards per merchant.
- If you have multiple gift cards for a single merchant, you can ask the merchant to combine your gift cards into one card.
- Otherwise, to add more gift cards, you must remove an existing one. Follow the steps above to remove a gift card.
If the cashier can’t scan your loyalty card or gift card:
- Clean your screen.
- Check for cracks over the barcode.
- If your screen is cracked, drag the barcode to another part of your screen.
- If the barcode still doesn’t scan, ask the cashier to enter the code directly into their register.
If you uninstalled the Google Wallet app, your gift cards and loyalty programs are still stored in your Google Account./p>
To recover your gift cards and loyalty programs
- Download the Google Wallet app.
- Sign in to the Google Account you used previously with Google Wallet.
Your gift cards and loyalty programs should reappear in the app.
Added card from Gmail
If you delete the email with the loyalty card, the card is removed from Google Wallet. Deleted emails stay in your trash for 30 days. Then, the email is deleted permanently.
If you still have the email, you can add the card again with the Google Wallet app.
Added card another way
Your loyalty card might disappear if you:
- Factory reset your device.
- Remove your Google Account from your device.
- Clear all data from Google Play services or Google Wallet.
To use your cards with Google Wallet, you must add them to the app again.
