Connect to Wi-Fi

Your watch can automatically connect to saved Wi-Fi networks when it loses its connection with your phone.

Turn on Wi-Fi

  1. If your screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. From the top of the screen, swipe down.
  3. Tap Settings πŸ‘ Settings
    .
  4. Tap Connections πŸ‘ and then
    Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is set to off, tap the Wi-Fi switch to switch it on.
  • Wear 2: Scroll and tap Connectivity πŸ‘ and then
    Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is set to off, tap Wi-Fi to switch it to Automatic.

Add or change your watch’s Wi-Fi network

  1. If your screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. From the top of the screen, swipe down.
  3. Tap Settings πŸ‘ Settings
    .
  4. Scroll and tap Connections πŸ‘ and then
    Wi-Fi πŸ‘ and then
    Add network.
  5. If it requires a password, tap Password. When prompted, enter the password on your Wear device.
  • Wear 2: If it requires a password, tap Enter password on phone. When prompted, enter the password on your phone, then tap Connect.

Tip: Your watch can't connect to Wi-Fi networks that take you to a page before you can connect (for example, Wi-Fi networks at places like hotels or coffee shops). It also can't connect to 5GHz networks.

Connect to known networks

As long as your watch's Wi-Fi is on, it'll connect automatically to Wi-Fi networks saved in your phone.
