View and manage users

These features are only available to partners who use YouTube Studio Content Manager.

In your Content Manager settings, the Permissions page shows Content Manager users and what role they’ve been assigned. 

From here, you can view all users, filter to find specific users, export a list of users, and remove users who no longer need access.

To view a list of all the users with access to your Content Manager:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Settings πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Click Permissions.

To narrow down the list, you can click Select filter πŸ‘ Image
 and filter users by Keyword or Roles. Learn more about managing roles.

To export the list, go to Export a list of users.

Note: Each page shows up to 30 users.

To search for a specific Content Manager user:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Settings πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Click Permissions.
  4. Click Select filter πŸ‘ Image
     πŸ‘ and then
     Keyword.
  5. Enter a keyword, such as a name or email address πŸ‘ and then
     APPLY.  
    • Note: Search is not case-sensitive. Your search terms can't include wildcard characters.

To view a list of all Content Manager users assigned to a specific role:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Settings πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Click Permissions.
  4. Click Select filter πŸ‘ Image
     πŸ‘ and then
    Roles. A list of all the roles you’ve created in your Content Manager will appear.
  5. Check the box next to the role you want to filter on. You can also start entering the name of a role to narrow down the list.

To change the role that’s assigned to a user:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Settings πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Click Permissions.
  4. Find the user you want to update.
  5. Click the name of their assigned role.
  6. Select the new role you want to assign to them.
  7. Click SAVE to save the changes.

To export a list of Content Manager users:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Settings πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Click Permissions.
  4. Check the box next to each user whose information you want to export.
    • To select all users on a page, click the checkbox at the top.
    • To select all Content Manager users, click the checkbox at the top πŸ‘ and then
       Select all.
  5. Click Export πŸ‘ Image
     πŸ‘ and then
     Comma-separated values (.csv) πŸ‘ Image
    . The file will download automatically.

Field descriptions

Field name Description

Name

User's display name

Email address

User's email address

Role

Name of the role, e.g. Administrator

Permissions: Features

Features that a user has access to

Permissions: Restrictions

Restrictions that apply to a user, e.g. can't see revenue

Status

Active: User accepted invitation and has active access to your Content Manager.

Invited: Invite sent, but the user hasn't accepted it. User doesn't have access to your Content Manager until the invite is accepted.

Invitation expires at

When a user's invitation expires (only shows for users with Invited status)

To remove a user from your Content Manager:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Settings πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Click Permissions.
  4. Find the user you want to remove.
  5. Click the role name.
  6. Select Remove access.
  7. Click SAVE to save changes.

A message will appear at the bottom of the page confirming that the user was successfully removed from your Content Manager.
