Hailing from Des Moines, IA, and boasting a sound that is aggressive, dark and foreboding is The Albino Spiders. A band that truly can not be summed under one style or genre. Taking influences and sounds from punk to industrial and reforming them into a sound that is unlike any other. The band comprises of Zarrie (singer/bassist), Jeramy (guitar/backing vocals), Derek (drums), and Cliff (samples). Main songwriting at the base level and lyrics are also primarily crafted by Zarrie, but all songs are fine-tuned and finished by the total band. This approach gives The Spiders the solid powerhouse songs that their fans have become so enamored with. Says Zarrie of his songwriting technique: “The music just comes from emotion, so I write it however I’m feeling at the time. That’s why it’s so diverse. Plus, I just love a lot of different kinds of music. But it’s always dark, because that’s the way I am. You could consider it therapy for the crazed.”
One would be remiss though, to neglect a mention of the bands live performance, best to be described as an exercise in controlled chaos. The band has built its reputation on destroying venues across the Midwest and turning throngs of enthralled fans into lifetime followers. The Spiders have shared the stage with the likes of A.F.I., 30 Seconds To Mars, The U.S. Bombs, Dope, Gotham Road and the legendary Vice Squad. The Spiders motto for every live show is: “We hope people leave our shows feeling reborn, and knowing that no matter what you have gone through, someone else has been there too, and survived it. So can you.”
We gather a family of all those fallen from grace to show the world, there is life after darkness. If you’re not ready for a band born of shadows, you may want to sleep with the lights on.
