Barton J. Bernstein

Barton J. Bernstein, now Stanford University professor of history (emeritus), has published widely on nuclear history, on scientists and weaponry, on presidential decision-making, and on international crises, including World War II, the Korean War, and the Cuban Missile Crisis. At Stanford, at various times, he was Mellon Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies, Director of International Relations, Director of International Policy Studies, and Chair of American Studies.
