DON'T STOP THE CARNIVAL tells the story of a palm tree-studded fantasy island and the Everyman hero, Norman Paperman, who escapes there. The customary Buffettesque Caribbean sound is in full effect, nuanced by the play's story line as well as a variety of characters and singing/speaking voices, including Wouk himself. CARNIVAL should please Parrotheads, with sparkly tropical songs like "Calaloo" and "Champagne Si, Agua No," which percolate with Buffett's familiar lighthearted island spirit.
