Trainings

The Federal Election Commission offers many opportunities for training on the federal campaign finance laws. This page provides information on our educational webinars, seminars, e-learning videos and specialized online training workshops. It also explains how to invite a Commissioner or FEC staff member to speak to an organization or group.

Educational webinars

👁 FECConnect Live

The FEC conducts frequent webinars to help committees comply with the campaign finance law. These online workshops include two-day programs that provide in-depth training on the rules for candidates, parties and PACs, as well as two-hour, topic-based webinars that offer timely guidance on issue that arise during the election cycle.

All of these webinars are available online only. You can participate right at your desk, and avoid the time and expense of traveling to DC. Online materials and technical information will be provided to those who register.

Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Prepayment is required.

Seminars

👁 FEC Connect Seminar – Square Logo

Each election cycle, the FEC hosts in-person training events tailored to different types of political committees. These seminars focus on a variety of campaign finance topics and are designed to foster interactive, in-person learning. The seminars are open to the public, but space is limited, and registration is required.

E-learning videos

👁 FECConnet OnDemand

As a supplement to our conferences, workshops and other educational outreach programs, the FEC offers instructional videos on our YouTube channel, FECConnect On Demand. Specific videos are also included within the Help for candidates and committees section of our website.

Specialized training for organizations

FECConnect One to One is an online training service that enables political committees and other groups to schedule live, interactive training sessions tailored specifically to their needs.

Informal discussions

👁 FECConnect OnTopic

The FEC hosts periodic informal discussions on specific topics of interest to filers. During these 30-minute online gatherings, FEC staff brief participants on a topic, respond to questions and moderate the discussion. OnTopic sessions are free, but pre-registration is required. Attendance is limited to facilitate discussion.

FEC Commissioners and staff often accept invitations to speak to groups on campaign finance issues. To invite a Commissioner or FEC staff member to speak, please contact the Information Division.
