Frances Elizabeth Bavier (December 14, 1902 - December 6, 1989) was an American actress best known for The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) (1951), The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968), and Man in the Attic (1953).
She was married to Russell Carpenter.
Bavier died in 1989 at the age of 86 from a heart attack.
