Tropes for the film:

  • Alliterative Name: Chris Carlyle.
  • Escaped Animal Rampage: Chris lets all the zoo animals go free.
  • Menagerie of Misery: The main premise. Chris, working at the zoo, in a protest against the appalling living conditions of the animals, takes the zookeeper's keys and lets all the animals loose. Hilarity ensues as the jungle animals wander all over town.
  • Tagline: "Someone's got a zoo loose!".
  • Unishment: Chris is so distraught by the animals' substandard living conditions, that one day he takes the zookeeper's keys and lets all the animals loose. They wander all over town before they can be recovered. But this act of protest did call the town's attention to the deplorable zoo conditions. So Chris's punishment is that he has to do volunteer work at the zoo every day for the rest of the summer, which was clearly what he wanted.
