HIT is a Spanish Teen Drama television series created by Joaquín Oristrell and produced by RTVE, in collaboration with Grupo Ganga.
Coexistence has become untenable in a problematic high school. Director Ester (Olaya Caldera) seeks help from Hugo (Daniel Grao), an unconventional educator.
It has three seasons that aired on RTVE from 2020 to 2024.
HIT contains examples of:
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Lena is a model student for her teachers and a nice daughter for her parents, but she's actually a manipulative person that doesn't hesitate to do whatever it takes to get what she wants.
- Brutal Honesty: Hugo is provocative, egocentric and politically incorrect. His students don't mince their words either.
- Burning the Flag: Sort of. Gus takes Spanish flags and he doesn't burn them, but he switches them for Catalonian flags.
- The Casanova: Darío is handsome, and he knows it. He uses his looks to earn money with some shady business.
- Casual Sports Jersey: Jerk Jock Nourdin is always wearing a tracksuit.
- Character Title: HIT stands for Hugo Ibarra Toledo, the main character.
- Companion Show: After airing each episode, RTVE aired a TV program, with the main actors explaining the themes of that episode.
- Contrasting Sequel Setting: Season 1 is set in Madrid, season 2 is set in Madrid and Castilla la Mancha, and season 3 is set in the Canary Islands.
- Dark and Troubled Past: All characters have been through difficult situations.
- Determinator: Hugo will push through to fix the school's situation, no matter what.
- Driving Question: On season 1, who caused the fire at the school?
- Drowning My Sorrows: Most teens are used to do this. Hugo tries to teach them to look out for healthier alternatives… but he also does it, a lot.
- Evil Genius: Lena is very smart, and she uses her intelligence to achieve whatever she wants, regardless of who she's hurting.
- Expy: Hugo is one of Merlí from Merlí, both being the teacher as a main character on a teen show, and both using unconventional methods that, against all odds, connect with his students.
- Extreme Doormat: Silvia is very insecure, so she clings to her friendship with Lena and does whatever she asks her to.
- Fish Out of Water: Jaco is an exiled Venezolan that tries to find his place in the world, who reminds him over and over again that is not his place.
- The Generation Gap: Some of the conflicts stem from the difference in perspective between the teens and the adults, especially parents and teachers.
- Getting High on Their Own Supply: Erika sells drugs, and he also takes them.
- Grief Makes You Crazy: Marga lost her brother a while ago, and she's so tormented about it that she snaps into rage very easily.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Marga's unresolved issues makes her get angry very easily.
- I Am Not My Father: Andrés is terrified to end up like his father, so he does whatever it takes to prevent it, even illegal stuff.
- Manipulative Bastard: Lena is able to make everyone believe that she's harmless, when that's far from the truth, and also she can convince her friends to do whatever she wants.
- The Mentor: Although he's flawed, Hugo tries to be this for his students.
- Promotion to Parent: Gustau is underage, but after his father started dating another woman and left the family, his mother went through anorexia and depression, so is him who takes care of her, not the other way around.
- Sucky School: There are so many issues on that high school that coexistence has become untenable.
- Tormented Teacher: Both Ester and Hugo are this, concerned about their students' situation but unsure of how to approach it.
- Troubled Teen: The students picked for Hugo's class have been labeled as "problematic" and all of them deal with severe issues, such as harassment, bullying, violence and addiction.
