ANNO: Mutationemnote Chinese: 纪元：变异 is a 2½D cyberpunk action-adventure game developed by ThinkingStars and published by Lightning Games. It was released on March 17, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam with a Nintendo Switch port following on September 1 of the same year with a release on Xbox Series X|S afterwards. Originally intended to be an SCP Foundation game like SCP – Containment Breach, it was later reworked into an original intellectual property in order to avoid potential issues with the SCP IP, while still maintaining some markers of its inspiration.
In a futuristic metropolis, Ann Flores is a highly-skilled combat-trained young woman who is experiencing an unknown effect within her, "Entangleitis", that causes her to lose control of herself. Her adoptive brother, Ryan Flores, was looking for "N540", a mysterious substance that can cure her condition, only to be abducted by agents of Dr. C, a top member of the secret organization known as the Circle Consortium.
Later, she discovers evidence that may lead to her missing brother as she faces off against the Consortium and mega-corporations with the help of her close friend, the hacker Ayane Misuno, hoping to find her brother and the N540 while at the same time discovering what C is planning. In the process, Ann slowly begins to discover that she is getting involved in something much bigger than her.
On April 14, 2023, a DLC storyline; "The Mysterious Game Console" was released. Set after the events of the main story, it focuses on Ayane as she investigates an antique game console that holds the spirit of a young girl called Noni, who seeks assistance in finding a way out of the device.
