Arcane Adventures👁 Image
is a 2015 MMORPG adventure game on Roblox, created by vetexgames as a sequel to his previous work, Online Fighting. The game takes place in the Seven Seas, one of the Arcane Universe's five sea clusters.

Due to a Roblox update forcing FilteringEnabled on all games, the game was among many to be rendered unplayable and the project was ultimately discontinued in June 2017, due to vetex wishing to move on to other projects. In 2019, a Fan Remake, Arcane Reborn, was released.

A sequel and the final instalment in the trilogy, Arcane Odyssey, released on February 26th, 2023.

Tropes:

  • All There in the Manual: Following the game being rendered unplayable, the plot synopsis, including details not present in the game, were published in a google document👁 Image
    .
  • Artifact of Doom: The Shadow Sceptre is a staff that corrupted the mind of Chief Marua of Doom Island, turning him into an Evil Sorcerer.
  • BFS: The Colossal Cutlass is a Cutlass. But Colossal.
  • Bounty Hunter: Interacting with bounty boards allows you to hunt down criminals for money and a reputation increase.
  • Calling Your Attacks: There is an option to have a chat bubble appear whenever moves are used, making the character call the name of their moves.
  • The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard: All fightable NPCs don't seem to have energy or stamina, which makes them capable of not only rapidly spamming skills, but also endless swimming to chase the player across the sea without ever drowning.
  • Constructed World: The Arcane Universe, which this game is a part of, takes place in an alternative reality of Greek Mythology where Prometheus gave humans magic instead of fire. Additionally, the game's events are set in the Seven Seas, one of the five sea clusters.
  • Convection, Schmonvection: You can stand near lava pools to no ill-effect. You can even FISH in them.
  • Doomy Dooms of Doom: All 8 weapons exclusive to Doom Island have Doom in the name. They aren't particularly impressive, as the Doom refers to the type of wood they're made from being from Doom Island.
  • Downer Ending: Arcane Adventures ends with Acheron killing himself with a Fantastic Nuke in a bid to take down the Peacekeeper. They survive, but three entire seas, including the Fifth Sea, the home of the Arcane Government, are vaporized, killing many of those they had encountered and befriended along the way. It also attracted Chaos to earth, which ravaged much of what was left, and caused an event know as the Wrath of the Gods, which had lasting implications across the world.
  • Drunken Master: The "Wasted" series of enemies are pirates encountered in taverns that are about as drunk as can be depicted without incurring the wrath of Roblox censorship. They still fight very well for people under the influence.
  • Dual Wielding: As well as the Dual Flintlocks, there exists Dual Doomwood Tomahawks, Dual Poison Daggers, and Dual Katanas.
  • Elemental Powers: There are seven types of elemental magic available to players: Fire, Lightning, Light, Shadow, Water, Earth, and Wind.
  • Fantastic Nuke: Acheron's all out attacks take the form of these, and have drastically altered the game's world into what is seen today.
  • Fishing Minigame: Fishing can be used to acquire fish, random items and is the only way to get the "Sunken Champion" armor set. You can also fish in lava pools.
  • Floating Continent: Cumulus Island and its adjacent areas are islands floating above the clouds, made possible by Acheron's Fantastic Nuke.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: The Dead Revival Staff can create undead. These undead are perfectly killable, even though Theos describes them as unkillable, and their durability is a major factor in the Final Battle.
  • Global Currency: A silver coin named Lamina is the currency of the Seven Seas. All merchants use it to trade goods. Aurem, a red gemstone, also acts as one due its former status as Unobtainium. It is worth 1000 Lamina, and unlike Lamina, which is a rather volatile currency, the value of Aurem remains constant.
  • Guns Akimbo: The Dual Flintlocks weapon, which allows the player to dual wield flintlocks.
  • Karma Meter: Reputation reflects how the Arcane Government views you. There are five categories of Positive Reputation: Legendary Hero (100,000+ Rep and higher), Saint (6,000 to 99,999), Hero (700 to 5,999), Protector (500 to 699) and Friendly (160 to 499); there is Neutral (-159 to 159) between positive and negative and there are five categories of Negative Reputation Unfriendly (-160 to -499), Hostile (-500 to -699), Villain (-700 to -5,999), Tyrant (-6,000 to -99,999) and Demon (-100,000 Rep and lower).
  • MÊlÃĐe à Trois: The War of the Gods was interrupted by King Arthur and his followers wiping out the remaining combatants on both sides, so that he could use Prometheus for his own ends.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Downplayed with Doom Island. The area around it is pretty treacherous due to the fierce weather, but the island itself isn't so bad, if somewhat primitive.
  • Naturally Huskless Coconuts: Coconuts can only be found as seeds, with the fruit conspicuously missing.
  • No-Sell: Sea Curses grant those who absorb them immunity to any non-magic based attacks.
  • Oxygen Meter: Player underwater have an Air bar that depletes so long as they are submerged. The depletion can be stalled through use of Water Breathing potions.
  • Palmtree Panic: Savaria is characterized by it's abundant palm trees. No cacti, though.
  • Prochronic Product: The Bazooka was invented in 1942. They exist in this world, which has been noted to have been stunted in terms of scientific advancement, in the 19th century.
  • Shop Fodder: Valuable Materials exist only to be sold to vendors.
  • Spam Attack: Some randomly spawning non-boss NPCs have an infamous tendency to abandon using their special skills and start trying to pummel players to death with their basic attacks if they're extremely close to the player.
  • Superpower Lottery: Sea Curses can range from just "become clouds" to "the ability to drain energy, ALL energy, magic energy, physical energy, abstract energy that may or may not exist" to "unending, unstoppable inferno that devours the world."
  • Titanomachy, Round Two: A rather unique example. Not only is it Prometheus, rather than Kronos, who is perpetrating it, the Titan actually wins, overthrowing Zeus and becoming the new king of Mount Olympus.
  • Underwater Ruins: The Underwater Maze Island. It contains a maze that is underwater.
  • Unobtainium: Aurem is a red crystal that could be sacrificed to Prometheus to boost his power, and in exchange he too would reward those who did so with power. Following his death, it's just a pretty red rock, but its previous value means its treated as a premium currency.
  • We Buy Anything: Shopkeepers in every town will buy anything you have, from seashells to skulls.
