Robot 64 is a Platform Game made by zKevin on Roblox. The game can be played here👁 Image
.

The game stars Beebo, a Robot Kid on a quest to destroy the sun with ice cream. In the game, you traverse 6 different worlds, plus some extras:

On April 1st, 2022 during the Bribbleco Quality Corner👁 Image
a prequel was announced titled Robot 32, with a demo👁 Image
for it released around the same time.

This game provides examples of:

  • Abnormal Ammo: Knoddy shoots surfboards from his UFO.
  • Air-Aided Acrobatics: Fans are present in various areas, though they're mainly used as an obstacle, except in Tinyhuge Bedroom where one can propel Beebo to the top of a computer desk.
  • All the Worlds Are a Stage: The final stage, Planet Kebabulon, is home to various challenges based on all the previous stages, capping it off with a difficult obstacle course based on the Tutorial.
  • Antepiece:
    • The obstacles in the tutorial that take place over pits, including the long jump and wall run tests, won't penalize you if you fall, so you can practice these parts as much as you want before coming across the real deal.
    • In the "Always Wash Your Hands" subarea, the first soap bars are placed over another platform so you won't fall into the abyss when they disappear. The next soap bars are over the standard bottomless pits.
    • In the "Swinging With Wires" subarea, the first wire is over a platform so you won't fall, but the next are over pits.
  • Artificial Sun: The real sun gets replaced with a fake one after it's defeated.
  • Batman Can Breathe in Space: Justified; because Beebo is a robot, he doesn't require a helmet on Planet Kebabulon since he doesn't breathe.
  • Bigger on the Inside: The fireplace in the observatory is somehow big enough to hold a slide that's even taller than the building.
  • Blackout Basement: The Scoobis Area is completely dark, with the only light source being Beebo's headlight.
  • Bottomless Pits: The abyss is an ever-present obstacle, especially in Platform Zones where the entire area is floating in midair.
  • Broken Record: The lyrics of "Enjoy Your Stay", which plays in the Tutorial, Knoddy's hotel, and the Final Homerun (as a remix), consist of "Enjoy. Your. Stay." being continously repeated by a robotic voice.
  • Can't You Read the Sign?: Knoddy says this verbatim minus the last 2 words to Beebo, who apparently ignored the "NO STINKY ROBOTS" sign in front of the hotel, before his boss battle.
  • Cool Board: Beebo can ride a skateboard as a powerup. The music will change into its "cool" variation to reflect this, and you can gain points by performing tricks.
  • Creative Closing Credits: During the credits, Beebo walks through areas themed after all the worlds in the game, with various NPCs and items available depending on the area.
  • Double Jump: After jumping once, Beebo can jump once again in mid-air.
  • Easter Egg:
    • The Testing Zone, which can be accessed from a portal on top of a cliff in the Hub by using the jetpack, flamethrower, or extremely precise jumps. It contains several small maps for testing game mechanics and elements, a large pool with the game's logo, an Eggship that leads to the 2019 Egg Hunt event, a monitor leading to the unused Grilled Grest level, and the map from Roblox's 2013 egg hunt.
    • Scoobis is hidden more well after his initial appearance: he appears at the end of Tinyhuge Bedroom's "Swinging with Wires" sublevel, way past the Ice Cream, and on top of a wall in Snozone Cave, hidden out of reach from the main area.
  • Easter Episode: The "Scramble In Time" event made for the 2019 Roblox Egg Hunt requires Beebo to find 4 eggs on a mysterious planet. If the quest was completed while the hunt was active, players would obtain the Eggscream, an ice cream-themed egg hat.
  • Edible Ammunition: In the final level, Beebo uses the Ice Cream he gathered to shoot at stars and the Sun.
  • Excuse Plot: There isn't much plot besides "go collect ice creams to destroy the Sun", but this isn't a problem given the wackiness of the plot by itself. Lampshaded by Dr. Smar at the end of the tutorial:
Dr. Smar: GO BEEBO! Collect those ice creams and launch 'em at the sun! And for the sake of Robot 64 to have a proper narrative!
  • Fake Difficulty: The levels with wires. Sometimes, the physics will make the wire move forward and back, and since Beebo is stuck in a 2D plane and can only move from left to right, he'll fail to grab on them and fall to his doom if he's just out of reach. This makes the wire obstacles a lot more difficult to navigate.
  • Fetch Quest: For two Ice Creams in Turtle Tops and New Neocity, a Rabboy tasks you with collecting 10 fireflies around the area.
  • Floating Platforms: One of the most common type of platform, especially in Platform Zones, is the kind that floats in mid-air.
  • Goomba Stomp: Many enemies can be defeated by jumping on them.
  • Gotta Catch Them All: The main goal is to collect every Ice Cream.
  • Ground Pound: One of Beebo's moves is achieved by jumping and smashing down on the ground.
  • Hailfire Peaks:
  • Hornet Hole: One of the bonus levels is Buzz Factory, which is a large hive with honey, honeycombs, smaller beehives, and, of course, lots of bees.
  • Hub Level: The Hub, where you enter levels, access Rusty's shop and Duncan's Cans, and use the Level Editor.
  • In Case of Boss Fight, Break Glass: After a few rounds of surfboard-shooting, Knoddy's UFO will land on the ground, leaving its glass roof open for damage.
  • Jet Pack: One of the main powerups is a jetpack that allows Beebo to take flight, though it controls more like a glider.
  • Level Editor: This game has one, where you can make custom levels and upload them for others to play. There is even an option to give tokens to level designers.
  • Looped Lyrics: The only lyrics of the credits theme, "You're Electrical", are:
    Having fun
    Destroy the Sun
Your name is Beebo so it can be done
  • MacGuffin: Ice Creams must be collected in order to unlock new worlds and destroy the Sun.
  • Macro Zone: Tinyhuge Bedroom shrinks Beebo down to the size of a small figurine, making the surroundings larger.
  • Non-Lethal Bottomless Pits: The pits in the Tutorial won't damage you since it's the tutorial and all; you'll simply come back up with no health lost.
  • Palmtree Panic: The first part of Knoddy's Resort, a beachside area next to the hotel (though without palm trees).
  • Pick-up Hierarchy:
    • Primary: Ice Creams (which must be collected to progress through the game)
    • Secondary: Eggs (8 can be collected in select levels for an Ice Cream), level-specific collectables (e.g. fireflies in Turtle Tops; collecting them all will yield an Ice Cream)
    • Tertiary: Batteries (restore hit points), candies (act as currency)
    • Extra: Tokens (the only collectables bought exclusively with Robux; used to buy items from Duncan's Cans)
  • Planet Heck: The Hecklands are a Hellish area filled with (friendly) flaming demons and boiling lava.
  • Production Foreshadowing: In the ending, Dr. Smar mentions that he sold his turnip cleaning project to BRIBBLECO. This references zKevin's later game Cleaning Simulator, where anthropomorphic foods, including turnips, clean the BRIBBLECO building.
  • Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: How Knoddy restates what's on his hotel's sign, with each word in a single dialog box:
    "NO"
    "STINKY"
    "ROBOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  • Retraux: The game has a 1990s aesthetic to it.
  • Scoring Points: While on the skateboard, you can earn points by doing certain tricks and maneuvers.
  • Shout-Out:
    • As the title suggests, Robot 64 is heavily influenced by Super Mario 64, including similar physics, Turtle Tops having a mountain reminiscent of Bob-Omb Battlefield, Speedboy serving as the equivalent of Koopa the Quick, Beebo being an expy of Mario, and much more. However, the game also borrows from other Mario games, including Super Mario Sunshine (most of the 3D Platform Zones may take inspiration from the game's Secret Stages, as they consist of floating platforms over a spacelike void) and Super Mario Galaxy (part of the hub area is an observatory, just like Galaxy).
    • Some of the hats are references to other media. For example, you can wear Hat Kid's top hat and a mushroom cap resembling the Vinesauce logo.
    • In Turtle Tops, one of the Rabboys is knocked down and exclaims "What? A snowball in July?". This is a reference to an H.H. Gregg advertisment for its "Christmas in July" sales event where the mascot says the line after being knocked over by a snowball.
    • Another Rabboy in Turtle Tops keeps saying "Shoutout to simpleflips", referencing a meme regarding the streamer of the same name.
  • Slide Level: If you enter the fireplace at the observatory, you'll come across a large slide over a massive pit of lava, with an Ice Cream waiting at the end. Multiple other slides exist in the game, including in two of Planet Kebabulon's challenges.
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: Snozone Cave is a massive ice cave with most of the surfaces covered in snow. Beebo must travel across ice pillars within the caverns, and there are ice blocks that can be melted with the flamethrower.
  • Soda-Candy 'Splosion: There is a black box in the Candy Aquarium, an area full of grape soda, which can't be broken by Beebo's spin attack. However, it can be broken by throwing a Brentos at it. Downplayed because while the Brentos-soda combination is strong enough to destroy the box, no huge explosion is seen.
  • Spin Attack: One of Beebo's attacks is a spinning move, which can not only damage enemies and break boxes, but also slow down his fall speed.
  • Springy Spores: The mushrooms in Snozone Cave will make Beebo bounce higher.
  • Super Not-Drowning Skills: Beebo can swim underwater without having to worry about drowning. Justified since he's a robot, who doesn't breathe.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: When Dr. Smar tasks Beebo to destroy the Sun and finds the robot's idea easier than his own:
Beebo: How I am going to [destroy the Sun]? Am I just going to throw a bunch of ice cream at it?
Dr. Smar: Well, my plan was to get about 3000 water guns but that's a better idea!
  • Synthwave: The theme of New Neocity. The floor is a neon grid, the Sun looks like the traditional "synthwave sun", and the music is even in this style.
  • Temporary Platform: Soap bars, which will vanish when you step on them.
  • Turtle Island: Turtle Tops takes place on the back of a humongous flying turtle.
  • Unexpected Gameplay Change: The final battle against the sun, which is a Shoot 'em Up instead of a platformer.
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential: After defeating Knoddy, you can feed him to the black hole inside his hotel if it hasn't been completely fed.
  • Wall Crawl: You can scale vertical walls with the flamethrower, as its flame keeps pushing Beebo upward.
  • Wall Jump: If there are two walls parallel to each other, Beebo can gain height by running on one, jumping to the next, and repeating.
  • Wall Run: One of Beebo's skills; by jumping towards a wall, Beebo will automatically run on it for a while.
  • Weird Moon: Planet Kebabulon is a yellow moon with a goofy smiley face, is home to portals with tricky challenges, and can be moved by a wheel-less bicycle.
