Village Monsters is a Life Sim Video Game by Josh Bossie.
Long ago, in a world populated by humans and monsters, a peace alliance was proposed between the two. However, the king of the humans rejected it, and instead went to war against monsterkind. This proved to be a mistake, as in the war, all of humanity was wiped out.
All but one, that is.
Now, the last human on Earth is residing in a town of friendly monsters. It's actually an okay setup. He's got a chance to settle down and live himself a nice, quiet, cozy life. So that's what the human does.
The game was funded on Kickstarter on October 12th, 2017. It was released on November 12th, 2019.
Village Monsters contains examples of:
- A Dog Named "Dog": One of the residents of the town is a giant bird creature named... Birdie.
- Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: Komatoa is a yeti who runs the hotel.
- Chest Monster: Golbrick, one of the residents, is a living treasure chest with green eyes.
- Dem Bones: Saley, the town guard, and Stapes, are living skeletons.
- Fauns and Satyrs: Dio, one of the residents of the town, is a satyr.
- In-Universe Game Clock: The days usually last about fifteen minutes. Time can be tracked with the clock in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Last of His Kind: The Player Character is the last remaining human in the game's world.
- Monster Town: The main setting of the game is a village populated by monsters.
- Token Human: The Player Character is the only human in the village. Heck, (s)he's the only human in the world.
- The Trees Have Faces: Ygette, one of the residents of the town, is a stationary tree with a face on her trunk.
