Her research interests include political violence, international development, and geopolitics, with an emphasis on China’s role in shaping global power dynamics. Her contributions to ISW’s publications highlight the evolving challenges posed by China’s rise and its implications for Taiwan and the broader Indo-Pacific region.

Karina graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a BA in politics and certificates in Humanistic Studies and European Cultural Studies. She has working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
