Kateryna Shymkiv is a Russia Researcher at the Institute for the Study of War. She was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, and has previously interned at a variety of think tanks and advocacy organizations, including ISW, Razom for Ukraine, and the Orion Policy Institute. Kateryna is passionate about national security, intelligence, and Eastern European geopolitics, particularly technological development and wartime adaptation, and has beginner experience working with ArcGIS Pro.
Kateryna is a senior undergraduate student at Tufts University, double majoring in International Relations, with a concentration in Security, and Economics.
