Tetiana Trach is a Cognitive Warfare & Russia Researcher at the Institute for the Study of War. She holds degrees in political science and economics from Hope College and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Her research focuses on Russia’s use of cognitive warfare and narrative construction to manipulate perceptions and shape domestic and international responses to Russian aggression.

Prior to joining ISW full-time, Tetiana interned with the Institute’s Cognitive Warfare Taskforce in summer 2025. She also participated in the Hertog War Studies Program, where she studied military history, theory, and practice of war, and civil-military relations.

Originally from Ternopil, Ukraine, Tetiana is a native speaker of Ukrainian and Russian and has upper-intermediate proficiency in German.
