Welcome to 👁 Image unsentletters! The premise of this community focuses around the all-important activity known as venting. This is the place to post all those letters you've written but were too afraid to send. It's your chance to be heard. Don't be afraid to say what you mean.
NOTE: This is now a moderated community, due to the sheer amount of spam in the past. Your post must be approved by a moderator before it is published to the community.
These are the rules of the community. Follow with care.
Please do not post entries that are not unsent letters.
This is perhaps the most self-explanatory rule, yet people break this one. The point of 👁 Image unsentletters is to post a letter to someone that you do not want them to see. If the person you're writing the letter to belongs in this community, please do not post the letter if it contains negative information, as it will incite drama; however, if the letter to the user contains information meant to be in a good light, then you may post it. We will let the positive letters slide, as the drama factor is pretty nil.
There are people who use a dial-up connection, and putting images under an LJ-cut will facilitate the page loading. People tend to get irritated when their friends page takes over ten minutes to load.
Please put anything triggering or of an adult sexual nature under an LJ-cut.
Triggering posts include but are not limited to: self-injury (cutting, burning, etc.), detailed suicide contemplation, or detailed thoughts of harming others. Posts of an adult sexual nature include but are not limited to: detailed accounts of sexual encounters, details about male and female genitalia, and excessive use of sexual slang. This rule should be followed, as there are individuals sensitive to self-injury and users under 18 who would prefer not to read something that sounds like it belongs in an erotica novel.
Please do not advertise your communities or Web sites.
This is not the place to advertise your community. Believe it or not, 👁 Image community_promo exists for you to promote your communities. We want to keep the clutter at a minimum, and advertisements of any sort are not welcome here.
Please be sure not to include any last names, screen names, e-mail addresses, or other identifying information. This community is for the purpose of venting, not starting drama.
Any identifying information will compromise the identity of the recipient of your unsent letter, whether or not he or she sees it. If you must be more specific than "John" because you know more than one John, then "John B." or the like will be sufficient.
Please do not harrass or degrade other users.
This goes without saying much. This is a safe place meant to vent emotion. It is not your place to harrass or attack the character of the author of any letter. Conscructive criticism in the form of advice is OK; name-calling and epithets are not.
Introductory posts are fine, but at least one unsent letter must accompany it.
Introducing yourself to the community is encouraged, but this is another measure to reduce the clutter. The primary focus of this community, of course, is to post unsent letters. Please include at least one in every post.
"Dear community" and "Dear anyone" letters are fine, but please do not abuse this privilege.
You may vent your emotions to anybody in general, and you may even ask for general advice, but please do not ask for advice that would be specific to another community; e.g., asking about cool hangouts in the Orlando area or where you can buy that hot new video game. There are communities specific to those questions; look for them!
"Dear maintainer" letters are not allowed.
