Does anyone on campus have the "Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology--Mezzo Volume 3" -- or just the sheet music to "Stars and the Moon" from "Songs for a New World" by Jason Robert Brown? I'd love to sing it for my recital, but the library's score is checked out... Thanks! *sorry for the triple cross-posting* |

TWO ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!!! 1. Everyone should come to the English Majors, Minors, and Friends Gathering tonight from 4-5:30 in the Trimble Forum. There will be lots of people to meet and talk to and of course delightful desserts and coffee! 2. MIDNIGHT BEATNICK'S SOCIETY: I know it didn't happen last week guys. But this week no matter what happens I'm showing up with works to read and with my ears open. Come read your work or play your instrument or sing! Please join me :) I don't bite...too hard. |

| Oh man. Dr. Zopfi isn't coming back to UPS next year. I guess the School of Music didn't have enough money to keep him on or something like that. This sucks. He was by far the most talented conductor I've ever worked with, and I'll miss him dearly. |

For all you musicians who also love to write: ANNOUNCEMENT! UPS WRITERS GUILD OPEN TO ALL WRITERS OF ALL MAJORS AND GENRES! (will also be specializing in English Department stuff) Here's what we want to do: 1. Give writers of all majors opportunities for peer feedback on work of any genre written outside of the classroom. 2. Have professional writers/editors and UPS faculty/staff members lead workshops and give lectures on different writing styles. 3. Provide social events for the English Department, so faculty, staff, and students can get to know each other, create a more cohesive department, and become more familiar with professional resources embodied in the department. If you're interested in any of the above, have suggestions for other types of projects, or if you want to get leadership experience by being an officer, come to our interest meeting: Wyatt 2nd floor lounge Wednesday, 14th of April at 5pm. We will be discussing officers, organization name, and project ideas. If you think you might be at all interested, please stop by! We're open to writers of all majors, so be sure to tell any friends that might be interested. Have a great week! |

Come hear your friends perform your favorite Broadway songs from shows like "My Fair Lady", "Into the Woods", "Les Miserables" and (my favorite!) "The Phantom of the Opera"! It's a 7:30 in Kilworth Chapel and it's FREE! Be there or be square! |

hey guys, i just wanted to let you know that the bulletin board in the lounge has been transformed to accommodate the smaller ups music groups. ie: MuSAC, NMS (new music society), Pep Band, and UPStage M. the board out on the lockers is still open for public use. |
| I'm looking for a ride to the Three Days Grace concert at Graceland in Seattle next Friday April 2. They're a really awesome band. If you're going, know someone going, or are interested in checking out Three Days Grace please let me know! I can't go if I don't find a ride and I'm totally willing to help out with gas and parking. |
| the Empire Brass will be performing at the Pantages Theater this Saturday, the 27th, at 8:00. They're performing on the Tacoma Philharmonic concert series. Tickets are regularly $25, $35, $45, $55, but students receive a 50% discount. They can purchase tickets by calling the Philharmonic at 253.272.0809; discounted tickets are also available online at www.broadwaycenter.org. There also will be tickets at the door, I would guess. |
