Davis is preparing to save the free world in the action thriller “G20” set for Amazon Prime Video. She’ll play the U.S. president caught up in a terrorist attack on the annual G20 summit of world leaders. Davis is a producer on “G20,” but she paused her work during the writers and actors strike in 2023 even though the film received a waiver from SAG-AFTRA that would have allowed it to move forward despite the work stoppage. Also on the docket for Davis is “I Almost Forgot About You,” based on the Terry McMillan novel, from helmer Malcolm D. Lee features Davis as a twice-divorced optometrist who reconnects with old lovers. Davis’ stature in the industry — she’s an EGOT, after all — led the Golden Globes to name her the 2025 recipient of their Cecil B. DeMille Award. Davis is also active as a producer through her JuVee Productions that she runs with her husband, actor Julius Tennon. In 2024, she was also active in campaigning for Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, narrating a 90-second ad for the campaign in which she declared “It’s time for a new generation of leadership.”
