Vegan Yogurt

I did a little reading and while someone somewhere said it could be done my cursory search only turned up people asking this question and those saying "yes!" So... is this really possible? Does it come with all the probiotics and live cultures of dairy yogurt? How would I make it? I'm presuming with rice or soy milk or something similar but those are often too processed for me so are there less processed brands? Or am I jumping the gun there and won't need that at all?

At the moment that is the only dairy product I'm really eating and it's the only one I need to keep eating (for the probiotics and live cultures)

(I apologize if this has already been asked, I did check the community tags)

Hot Weather!

Hello, everyone!

What do you eat when it's really hot out? We usually default to salad, but I'm looking for a little more variety and I would love to hear what others do.

TIA!

Laryngopharyngeal reflux

Hello,

My doctors recently discovered that I have Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR). I was given a list of things to avoid eating, but I'm still very confused. On that list it said "avoid citrus fruits" which I thought was obvious. But then I started getting advice on somethings (like lemon) being OK because of the alkaline level.. Something like that.

Does anyone have LPR or know about it? I want to know what I can and cannot eat.. Especially if I can have lemons because lemonade is my favorite thing to drink, ever! I have briefly Googled, but came out more confused.. I do plan to do more research soon though but I thought I would check here.

I'm a lacto-vegetarian, so I'm looking for things i can eat in that diet. (I don't eat meat, fish or eggs but I have dairy)

Thanks in advance!

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins (Vegan)

I decided to make a huge batch of muffins so this week during finals I'd have some quick breakfasts and snacks. But... I only have 3 left, and it's only Tuesday. They are delicious.

My bottom lasagna noodles are hard as heck!

No, that isn't any type of euphemism or anything. . . .

:) Recently my boyfriend and I decided to make vegetarian lasagna ( w. ricotta and mozzarella cheese, lots of veggies, no sauce or tomatoes), and it came out well except the bottom layer of noodles was hard as heck!

I lightly coated all the noodles with olive oil, and the other layers were just right, but just the bottom layer was very tough and hard.

What I did at the bottom of my glass baking dish: I just brushed olive oil (a thin layer) all over the bottom and sides of the baking dish, then put the bottom noodles directly on this surface.

What should I have done instead? coat the bottom of the pan with tinfoil, and then brush THAT with oil? or do I NEED to have a layer of something moist on the bottom, as opposed to the noodles being the VERY bottom layer? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you!

King Ranch Casserole

Here in Texas it seems like every family has their own King Ranch Casserole recipe. And now, I have one too! And no one guesses it's vegetarian.
