I think people from The Hush Sound own my soul
So MCR posted the video and I still haven't watched it. I don't even care because I finally found out what the hell Bob Morris is doing with his life right now. He has a new band. It has Ian Crawford in it.
I am so delighted and excited about this guys, you don't even know.
Look at they precious dorky faces! And how they might be almost the same level of hipster as TYV, Gold Motel, Empires, and The Like!

Also, they have a girl in the band and she has a great name and I just looked at her Myspace and googled her and oh my god, she is AWESOME guys! From her myspace:
Pretty and interesting female singer in a band with Bob Morris and Ian Crawford. I am so excited guys, you have no idea. I just read this article about Ren moving to LA (which you can find here) and I am excited and loling about this:
-obviously, Ren is singing
-their drummer is named Adam James (I uh, also inferred that from the tags on the twitter photo but whatever. confirmation is nice)
-Ian is playing guitar (obviously) and doing vocals.
-There was a link to a youtube video of Ren and Ian playing More Than Yesterday (90% sure it's a cover, but I can't figure out what the original is-also, embedding was disabled) which linked to all kinds of other videos of the two of them from the same benefit show and some songs Ian sang by himself (also you guy should watch the other videos. ETA: ). How did I not know Ian could actually sing? I mean granted, I have The Cab's music and never actually paid attention to them so I might have missed the memo that Ian can do more than sing backup vocals, but still. Dude sings.
-Bob is playing bass and apparently not doing any vocals? Somehow I doubt that
-most importantly They'll begin recording in September in Chicago and plan to have music available by late fall.
Also, from Bob's twitter: Stamps is the band that plays my "solo" stuff. Meaning, all I do is solo all over. Flute solos!
I'm trying to decide if this means Bob is just going to be playing bass with Debate Team and Stamps (and probably doing some song writing) or if he's got other things he's been working on or is interested in doing but they're on the back burner.
ETA: So I was watching an interview with Ren and I learned yet another fact, which made me change my mind about about watching her Glee audition. So she's dating Ian (which...maybe doesn't bode well for the longevity of this band). Ian helped her write "Better In Time" for the Houston Hearts Haiti benefit concert.
So that might be some indication about what Stamps could sound like, but I doubt it because it was written with a benefit cd and show in mind.
But back to Ren's Glee audition and Ian/Ren! So, in the audition Ren sings the US national anthem and sounds very good on it, then she gives the ten reasons Glee should call her back/cast her. Some of them are pretty great, like how she already pretends she's in Glee and owns her own sparkley microphone, some of them...less so and she's kind of annoying with a couple of them. But her number one reason is so that her boyfriend will finally have to watch Glee with her and she holds up the CUTEST picture of her and Ian.
That's really all I have to say? I am slightly dubious about a 17 year old girl being in the same band as her boyfriend mostly because I'm worried about breakup drama in a year or two, but Ren and Ian are really cute together?
Also, Stamps' twitter linked to a great video of Bob, Ian, and Ren being DORKS with a tambourine and singing together (which makes me think Bob will be playing bass and singing-I really hope he sings with them).
In conclusion: shiny new band! And I'm excited about Gold Motel's new EP/thing, Talking Fiction.

Ren (short for Lauren), started out as a model at the age of 4 for Foleys and Neiman Marcus as well as other print and runway jobs. She went on her first acting audition at the Tony Award winning Alley Theatre landing the lead role of Tiny Tim in "A Christmas Carol". She was a cast member and soloist in this production for 6 years and also toured with the Alley production of Arthur Miller's "A View From A Bridge". Ren was in the Houston Grand Opera's world debut of "Resurrection" playing a Russian prisoner of war. She has been featured in numerous local and national commercials for Space Center Houston, Discovery Channel Store, Methodist Hospital, Compaq Computers, Walmart, political campaign ads, etc. and has been featured in a motion picture. While she still loves acting, her true passion is singing. Ren has performed the National Anthem at major sporting events for the Houston Astros, Houston Aeros, Houston Rockets and Texas Copperheads since the age of 10 to an overwhelming response. She was the jazz vocalist for the University of Houston's Young Sounds of Houston Youth Jazz Orchestra for two years and was bestowed the honor of being named the international winner for Best Jazz Vocalist in the 2007 Downbeat Student Music Awards. This paved the way for her to receive a full scholarship to the Conservatory of Music in Bordeaux, France as part of the UHD and Musique de Nuit Student Music Exchange Program where she performed at the International Music Festival in South France.
She enjoys writing her own music and although classically trained is creating her own sound and recording her latest material in the studio. Late summer/early fall of 2010 she will be headed to Los Angeles to join her new bandmates on an exciting new project (details to come soon)!

"Our music is going to be really dynamic and different," Patrick says. "We're recording live to tape, strong emphasis on raw vocals and instrumentation to really show off the musicianship."Because I think that means that we can safely classify Stamps as part of the hipster side of bandom and that it'll be interesting music. Not to everyone's taste, obviously, but for those of us who are Hush Sound, Empires, Gold Motel, TYV, and The Like fans it'll probably be in a similar sort of vein. Other interesting things from that interview with Ren:
