Realtime Worlds' shutdown in September was a shock to some, despite its apparently inevitability long before the launch of its flagship title, the PC-exclusive MMO APB, in July. As we haven't heard much about the Scottish game developer since the purchase of APB's source code, let's take a look at what's happened to the company, its headquarters and its items.

In early November, Sweeney Kincaid industrial auctions announced that a huge number of lots from the company would be sold via online auction ending on November 12th. The items on auction included high definition televisions, high-spec workstations and gaming machines, retail Xbox 360s, and curiously a copy of The Beatles Rock Band for 360.

Following the sale of these items and the intellectual property rights of its flagship game, Realtime Worlds successfully paid off its remaining employees and disappeared from the public eye, shutting down its domains and closing its offices. These offices are now available for let for office, commercial and leisure uses. As of now, the building’s fate remains uncertain.
