Hi all, I'm new to this little community. I'd like to think of myself as a "dark artist", though most of my work doesn't appear it. I've supressed this side of myself for a long period of time, but thanks to my significant others (yes, I have two), I'm getting in touch with the dark side of myself again. This will be my first post, please feel free to critique, and pointers on technique for blood and the like are always appriciated.

Hello, i've just joined this community and was wondering if I could post stories as well as artwork. I am a photographer, however sometimes my pictures do not show up on LJ so I am kinda reluctant to post any. I am kinda new to this whole blogging experience and are yet to truly understand how to use this LJ properly. We trudged through what seemed like miles of mud.Up and down hundreds of decidedly wonky stairs.Got lost in the woods.Half froze.Had to try and avoid strange metal detectorists and noisy brats on half-term hols.Got gawped at by nosy hikers.Chris's head exploded at one point I'm sure,due to intense frustration, bespattering the verdant(okay,brown!) forest with red goo:-)Yet against all adversity, we ended up with about two usable shots of my new mask,Poison, (second in the "winged" series).So here's one of them!!!
Hope to put some more detailed shots on later this week.

Here is my latest mask.It is the first in a small series of winged half face masks.One of the challenges behind this series was to try and work with only strong form and colour to create each piece.A change from my highly decorated full face masks.The designs appeared deceptively simple but proved to demand a great deal of patience,experimentation and swearing in order to come to fruition!! Thanks Chris for all the work you put into these lovely photos for me!

My Teresa in a very simple pose. She always did enjoy perching, just because she was the only one who could ever do it. In her world, even the stars fear to shine at night.

If there were good guys and bad guys in the world, I guess these would be the good guys. That doesn't mean they're all nice, though.
