A comprehensive new illustrated guide to geometryβfrom New York Times bestselling cartoonist Larry Gonick
What's the point of points? Where do we draw the line? If there are two sides to everything, then what's up with triangles, squares, and polygons?
Once again, mathematician-turned-cartoonist Larry Gonick uses his unique gift for witty, lively, and clear exposition to demystify another complex subject: geometry.
Moving from the most basic geometrical conceptsβplanes, lines, and pointsβthrough elementary postulates and to elaborate proofs, The Cartoon Guide to Geometry is a comprehensive primer on all the essentials of plane geometry: angles, triangles, area, similarity, and, yes, the Pythagorean theorem. Carefully tailored to the curriculum standards and standardized testing guidelines of the subject, this humorous textbook provides innovative visuals that develop proofs and constructions with sequential graphics rather than single illustrations. The reader emerges with a deep grasp of key ideas for effective math helpβand has fun getting there.
This essential study guide makes learning geometry fun and includes:

βIn Gonickβs work, clever design and illustration make complicated ideas or insights strikingly clear.β - New York Times Book Review
βGonick is so consistently witty and clever that the reader is barely aware of being given a thorough grounding.β - Omni

It covers so many issues that kids tend to stumble on. Great resource!

Larry Gonick is the greatest teacher I have ever come across
All and any of his books are worth your time--both student and teacher
I've taught Statistics using Goonick, and my students related to and learned from
him what the regular textbook could not and did not do
Goonick is a national treasure
Well, Larry Gonick did it again! His Algebra cartoon guide was so engaging! My kids both really enjoyed it and were referring and revisiting it throughout the year. My son really enjoyed the geometry one as well!
Bought this to help our teen and it's great!
I finally understand where the formulas I was made to learn in Geometry 30+ yrs ago come from. Got this for our 8th grader. He is struggling in Geometry. Tough teacher with a strong Korean accent who talks really fast. So we are bringing in the support. It is helping. He is not as thrilled to learn where the formulas come from as I am. I am trusting that it is helping.
I opened the package with the book in it a few minutes ago. The book has so much wear on it, and tears, no way it's new. The images inside are nice and clear and overall it seems like a good find.

Best way to get students that are not interested intrigued so that way it keeps their interest with some humor . They say itβs best to learn while having fun . This is it !
Presentation is great but it is for older kids (late middle to high school).
Last of Larry Gonick opus to date, the Cartoon Guide to Geometry. This cartoon guide features the same qualities as the other mathematical cartoon guide by the same author. It is at the same time very precise and rigorous, with actual definitions, theorems, and proofs, and delightful, pleasant, and even some times fun. It contains true geometry, and it offers it to just curious readers. It is the contrary to "Let no one ignorant of geometry enter"! It is "Enter, non-geometer, I will do my best to explain you!". It covers lines and segments, lengths and angles, triangles and polygons. It also covers enough formal logic to conduct all the proofs in the most clear and rigorous way. I recommend it, for pupils and teachers, for curious people, for pure pleasure.
Great visual learning aid for Geometry! Good quality paper & printing.
Todo perfecto, llego incluso antes de tiempo, el libro en perfecto estado, todo bien
