MEP - Multiengine piston aeroplanes Basic or Type Rating

The MEP (Land) Class Rating can be added to an ICAO PPL or CPL following the approved course of training. Prior to commencing the course, a PPL holder must have 70 hours as Pilot-in-Command. The MEP course consists of a minimum of 6 hours of flight training covering: aircraft differences, symmetric operations, emergency and asymmetric operations. We operate a L200-A on our MEP course, alternative types may be available on request at additional cost. Seven hours of ground training are also required, plus a multiple choice theory exam which is provided during the course. We have a 100% first series pass rate for the MEP course. New type rating for holder MEP is Cessna C-310. A Skill Test must also be passed following course completion

Instrument rating on SEP / MEP or Enroute IR

The Instrument Rating can be added to an ICAO PPL (provided the Part-FCL ATPL or IR examinations have been passed, together with the minimum experience requirements) or CPL to allow the holder to fly in accordance with the Instrument Flight Rules inside controlled airspace. The training course can either be flown entirely in the aircraft, or split between our approved simulator and the aircraft, either single or multi engine. The Instrument Rating for a CPL holder requires a course of 45 instrument hours, during which time the student will learn to fly the aircraft by sole reference to the flight instruments, handle emergencies and fly precision and non-precision instrument approaches. This is usually done in a multi engine aircraft for CPL holders; however a single engine IR would also β€œfreeze” the ATPL exams for a CPL holder. The flight test must be flown with a CAA approved Instrument Rating Examiner. For a PPL holder, the instrument rating requires at least 50 hours of instrument instruction, again split between our approved flight simulator and in either a single or multi engine aircraft. Flight school BEMOAIR offers both Single Engine and Multi Engine Instrument Rating Training to suit your needs. We can provide too new type of training - for Enroute IFR – EIR(A).

Both simulators are in Prague and we have approval from CAA to use them. In PPL(A) training is possible to take 5 hours on the simulator, in CPL(A) also 5 hours, for IR(A)/SE 30 hours and for IR(A)/ME 35 hours. 7.
