Justice Minister Sean Fraser hailed Ottawa's 'major step forward' on bail and sentencing reforms after Bill C-14 received royal assent on Monday. The new law makes it harder for certain offenders to get bail, and stiffens sentences for repeatedly committing certain crimes.
