Riverside County firefighters have made some progress battling a brush fire burning near the Calimesa area in Riverside County.
The blaze, which was dubbed the Shore Fire by firefighters, was first reported at around 3:20 p.m. Monday near the 31000 block of San Timoteo Canyon Road in the unincorporated area of El Casco, according to Cal Fire.
By Tuesday night, crews said that the fire had burned 3,085 acres and was 32% contained, according to Cal Fire.
"Resources will continue working throughout the evening to monitor hotspots, lay hose, and strengthen containment lines around the fire perimeter," firefighters said in an update on Tuesday. "Interior hotspots may remain active and continue to produce visible smoke."
Firefighters said that the fire was burning near the Fisherman's Retreat and that both water-dropping aircraft and ground units were working to control the flames.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

An evacuation shelter was established at Valley View High School, located at 13135 Nason Street in Moreno Valley, and a shelter for large animals was established at San Jacinto Animal Campus at 581 S. Grand Avenue in San Jacinto.
Road closures
The westbound 60 Freeway at the 10 Freeway was temporarily closed as crews continued battling the blaze Tuesday morning. The eastbound 60 Freeway remained open.
CBS LA has issued a Next Traffic Alert to warn drivers about the impact on their commutes after firefighters said that the roads could still experience delays. Alternative routes include: the westbound 10 Freeway, Oak Valley Parkway and Gilman Springs Road.
