A 60-year-old man has died after he was hit by a vehicle in North Philadelphia early Monday morning.
Police have identified the 60-year-old as Roger Bailey from Philadelphia.
Officials with the Philadelphia Police Crash Investigation Division tell CBS News Philadelphia the crash involved three vehicles and happened around 3:40 a.m. at the intersection of West Hunting Park Avenue and Fox Street.
Bailey was attempting to jump-start his Ford Escape with the help of a 61-year-old woman who was in a Subaru Forester when another vehicle hit him.
As Bailey was standing in between the two vehicles for the jump-start, a gray Honda Pilot hit the Ford Escape and the impact led to Bailey suffering severe upper body and head trauma, according to police.
The driver of the Honda Pilot, a 26-year-old woman, then got out of the car and ran, but she was apprehended by police shortly after.
Bailey was transported to Temple University Hospital, but died a short time after arrival.
As of now, charges are pending against the 26-year-old woman, according to police.
