Gio Insignares

Gio Insignares is the weekend evening anchor for CBS LA. You can watch him every Saturday and Sunday night at 5pm, 6pm, 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, and 11pm. He is also a weekday reporter for the station. Since joining the team in April 2024, he has contributed to the station's major local coverage, including the 2024 election and the devastating January 2025 Southern California wildfires.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Gio was an anchor and reporter at WPLG in Miami, where he covered major stories affecting South Florida, including the tragic Surfside condo collapse that claimed 98 lives. He also created and led a franchise series, "Technically Speaking," highlighting technology, innovation, and business shaping local communities.

Originally from Miami, Gio's career has taken him coast to coast. He started in Medford, Oregon, as an anchor and reporter at KDRV before moving to Washington, D.C., where he served as an anchor and reporter for WUSA. In the nation's capital, he covered significant national stories, including the memorials for Senators John McCain and George H.W. Bush, the COVID-19 pandemic, and racial justice protests.

Outside the newsroom, Gio is a movie buff, so you'll find him at multiple screenings across LA. He's also a big foodie, massive sports fan, and dog dad of two.
