INTEGRAL Latest News
Mark the date: INTEGRAL Legacy Conference
18 February 2026 The first INTEGRAL Legacy Conference will be organised by CEA and Paris-Saclay Universe Sciences Observatory on 19-23 October 2026 in “Institut Pascal” on the Paris-Saclay University Campus. Latest News can be found under https://integral2026.sciencesconf.org.
INTEGRAL Telemetry Data Access
17 December 2025 Following the INTEGRAL Community Knowledge Transfer Workshop (refer to previous News Items), the community groups listed below have been granted access to the still available INTEGRAL telemetry:
- INTEGRAL Science Data Centre, ISDC, at Université de Geneve
- INTEGRAL/IBIS experts at CEA Paris-Saclay
- INTEGRAL/SPI experts at IRAP Toulouse
INTEGRAL community knowledge transfer workshop: Legacy Webpage & Community Call for Interest
17 July 2025 The Workshop Legacy Webpage has been created to serve as a comprehensive repository at the following link: https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/integral-knowledge-transfer-workshop/workshop-legacy
As a key outcome of the workshop, we are pleased to offer the opportunity to request access to the INTEGRAL data still available at the Mission Operations Centre. Community members interested in the remaining INTEGRAL data should contact the INTEGRAL Mission Manager (matthias.ehle@esa.int) directly. They should include a brief statement detailing their interest in the data, the specific still available data they require, and the individuals involved in the request. Please, ensure that such requests are sent before August 31, 2025.
INTEGRAL community knowledge transfer workshop
In recognition of INTEGRAL’s importance in the Interplanetary Network and as a detection device for high-energy transients, ESA offers the scientific community an opportunity to access basic data in the coming years and, in the spirit of open science, offers a knowledge transfer workshop led by mission experts, scheduled for half a day on 03 July 2025, 13:00 - 18:00 MESZ. The workshop venue is the Fraport Conference Center inside Frankfurt Airport, Germany.
Specifically, this ESA-organized workshop aims a) to inform the scientific community about the type of INTEGRAL data that ESA can still provide, highlighting the limitations and changes since the end of science operation, and b) to facilitate the community coordination around the INTEGRAL SPI-ACS burst event information service.
Further information and the registration form can be found on the Workshop Webpage at https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/integral-knowledge-transfer-workshop
First public release of INTEGRAL Science Legacy Archive (ISLA)
27 March 2025 The INTEGRAL Science Legacy Archive (ISLA) provides access to all consolidated data as well as high level products like time series, spectra and mosaics per observation for the high energy sources detected over the course of the mission's 22+ years science operations. In addition, a Community portal allows scientists to promote and make accessible their own science products. If you have any questions, please contact the Helpdesk under integral.helpdesk@cosmos.esa.int
You are welcome to visit ISLA here https://isla.esac.esa.int
Mission accomplished for INTEGRAL
28 February 2025 The European Space Agency’s gamma-ray telescope ended its observations on 28 February 2025. During its 22+ years in space, INTEGRAL has reshaped our view of the most dramatic events in the Universe. The high-energy observatory played a pivotal role in revealing the nature of the cosmic explosions known as gamma-ray bursts and in uncovering the origin of gravitational wave events. Recently, it delivered unique insights into how thermonuclear blasts drive jets in neutron stars and captured the giant flare from an extragalactic magnetar. Read the full ESA web story here.
