The program’s five concentrations are designed to support career growth across industries including business, human resources, communications, media, education, foreign service, intelligence, and international marketing.

Yes. Georgetown says students may transfer up to 64 credits, including eligible military training, CLEP, and AP exam scores. Prior work experience does not count as transfer credit.

Students complete online lectures and then engage with the teaching team and classmates to explore the material more deeply. The experience also includes discussion forums and access to previously answered student questions.

Yes. Students can access certain on-campus resources with a valid GOCard, online students may participate in the on-campus graduation ceremony, and students also have access to Georgetown’s academic and professional support resources.

Yes. The program is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The degree requires 120 credits in total, which is equal to 40 courses at 3 credits each.

Georgetown says successful applicants typically have prior postsecondary coursework or relevant professional, military, or life experience. Work experience is not required for admission.

Applicants submit unofficial transcripts from all for-credit institutions when applying - they can be uploaded directly into the application prior to submission. Students who enroll must later provide official transcripts. The official transcript(s) must be sent to the Georgetown SCS Admissions Office prior to matriculation. Transcripts must either be emailed or sent in an envelope sealed by the school's registrar, or sent via an official online transcript provider to scsadmissions@georgetown.edu.

If your transcript is sent to another school at Georgetown University by mistake, you will need to reorder the transcript and have it sent to the School of Continuing Studies.

Applicants with international coursework must submit a course-by-course evaluation from an approved credential evaluation service such as WES, ECE, or The Evaluation Company (TEC)/SpanTran.

Applicants whose first language is not English must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. Recommended scores are TOEFL 100 iBT, 600 paper-based, or 250 computer-based, or IELTS 7.0. This requirement may be waived for graduates of English-speaking institutions.

You should plan well in advance to complete the necessary tests and allow time for the Georgetown SCS Office of Admissions (institution code 5986) to receive the results.
