About this Guided Project

In this 2-hour long project-based course you will learn how to build a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation using the power of Microsoft Copilot AI.

We will do this by creating a product innovation presentation for executive management leveraging Copilot's abilities. You will create and organize content and structure with Copilot, add and generate images, extract and summarize information and insights from other presentation, automatically create slides from a Word document and expand content with AI-augmented information. This project will help you efficiently build any business or educational presentation such as a meeting or project summary, an idea pitch, or a quarterly results review. This course is aimed at learners who are looking to get started with Microsoft Copilot for PowerPoint. Basic familiarity with PowerPoint (create, edit and delete slides) and a valid Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 licenses are required (minimum configuration: Copilot Pro and Microsoft 365 Home licenses).

Frequently asked questions

In this course, the Copilot-based PowerPoint workflow means using Microsoft Copilot to draft, organize, revise, and expand a slide deck instead of starting every slide from scratch. The focus is on guiding Copilot with prompts, then refining the structure, content, and visuals inside PowerPoint.

You would use it when you need to turn a topic, notes, or existing materials into a first draft of a presentation and then improve it through iteration. The course shows it as a practical way to build business or educational decks that need structure, summaries, added visuals, and expanded content.

It sits in the middle of presentation work, after you know your topic, audience, and goal but before the deck is fully polished. In this course, Copilot helps connect early drafting with later refinement by turning ideas, documents, and existing slides into content you can reorganize and improve.

Using Copilot for PowerPoint is different from building a deck slide by slide by hand because you start by guiding an AI assistant, then edit and reshape what it produces. The course emphasizes a back-and-forth process of prompting, reviewing, and revising rather than writing every heading, bullet, and supporting slide manually.

No deep technical background is required, but basic familiarity with PowerPoint is helpful. You should be comfortable creating, editing, and deleting slides, and the course assumes access to Microsoft Copilot with Microsoft 365.

The course centers on Microsoft Copilot in PowerPoint, with Word documents and existing presentations used as source material for slide creation and summarizing. The main method is prompt-driven drafting and revision, including adding images and expanding slide content with AI-supported research.

You practice generating a presentation structure, revising and expanding slide content with prompts, adding or replacing images, and turning source documents or other presentations into new slides. You also work on organizing the deck with sections and summary slides so the overall workflow becomes easier to repeat.
