In this course, you'll continue developing your Windows 11 skills by managing files and folders. You'll also configure various settings in Windows 11, and apply best practices for securing Windows.
This is the second course in a multi-course Specialization. All of the courses in this Specialization require that you have Windows 11 installed. The course setup instructions provided in the first course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.
As you have discovered, files are everywhere on a Microsoft® Windows® 11 computer. There are files that you have created while working in apps and also files that are required for the apps to run. When it comes to accessing files, you have access to files stored on your computer as well as files stored in other locations, such as OneDrive®. All these files are organized into folders to help you keep track of them. Having files in manageable locations enables you to keep them secure. In this lesson, you will manage the files and folders on your Windows 11 computer.

Now that you know how to configure your system settings, it is important to learn how to secure your computer. Security is a growing concern for all organizations and individuals who depend on computers at any level. And, with the prevalence of web-based computing, security concerns are growing even more quickly. Hackers relentlessly pursue opportunities to compromise systems by exposing and exploiting weaknesses. People and organizations are storing important information on, and running software from, third-party servers with growing frequency. All of this means you need to know how to protect yourself in an increasingly interconnected world. In this lesson, you will learn about Windows® security features.
