About this Guided Project

In this one and a half hour guided project, you will master the fundamentals of creating a project plan using Notion. We will accomplish this by designing a comprehensive project plan for implementing a training onboarding program on a new CRM software platform within a fictional SaaS company. Notion is an all-in-one workspace tool that allows you to organize information, collaborate with team members, and manage projects seamlessly.

Throughout this course, you will learn how to structure your project plan effectively, assign tasks and responsibilities, set milestones, track progress, and communicate with team members using Notion's intuitive interface. By the end of the training, you will have a fully functional project plan that can be implemented within your own organization. This guided project is ideal for project managers who are new to Notion and want to leverage its capabilities for project management purposes. There are no prerequisites for this course, and while ideal for Notion beginner-users, participants of all skill levels are welcome to join.

Frequently asked questions

In this course, a Notion project plan is a structured workspace that brings together scope, tasks, milestones, resources, and team information in one place. The focus is on building a plan you can use to organize execution and communication, not just store notes.

You would use a Notion project plan when a project has multiple moving parts and you want one place to assign work, set dates, and track progress. The course treats it as a practical setup for shared projects that need clear ownership, milestones, and supporting resources.

A Notion project plan sits between defining the work and carrying it out day to day, giving the project a structure that can be updated as execution moves forward. In this course, it links planning details with task management, progress tracking, and shared reference material.

A simple task list tracks individual to-dos, while a Notion project plan also captures scope, milestones, ownership, timelines, and supporting resources. The course emphasizes building those connections so work can be managed in context rather than as isolated items.

No prior Notion experience is required, and the course is designed for beginners. It helps if you can think through project goals, tasks, and responsibilities, but the setup itself is taught in a guided way.

The course centers on Notion as the main platform for project planning and collaboration. You use databases and multiple views, including board and timeline views, to organize and monitor work.

You practice setting up a team project space, creating a scope page, building databases for tasks and milestones, assigning work, and tracking progress with connected views. You also organize shared resources and create a simple wiki structure so the project plan supports both execution and knowledge sharing.
