This course will be useful to anyone new to Python programming. You will learn how to set up a Python development environment and develop a simple application.

This is the first course in a multi-course Specialization. All of the courses in this Specialization require that you use the provided virtual machine, which includes an installation of Python. The course setup instructions provided in the first module of this course go into more detail about the hardware and software requirements.

Before you start developing programming projects in Python®, you must set up a computer with the tools you need. Once you have done so, you can create a new programming project, and start writing and testing your code.
