Russia and Eurasia remains one of the key regions of geopolitical upheaval in the twenty-first century, including political uprisings, unprecedented land wars, and disruption to energy systems. While some former Soviet states have made moves toward Westernization and democracy, Russian influence continues to spread through mis- and disinformation campaigns and Moscow’s relations with other authoritarian regimes.
