Elmer Bernstein

American Academy Award-winning composer and conductor.

His Hollywood works include The Ten Commandments (1956), The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Great Escape (1963), Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967, Academy Award), Animal House (1978), The Blues Brothers (1980), Trading Places (1984) and Ghostbusters (1984).
Father of Peter Bernstein (3) (with his 2nd wife) and Emilie A. Bernstein (with his 3rd wife). Unrelated to Leonard Bernstein, though they were friends.
