NEWPORT, R.I.— Mark Turner, fmr. Director of the U.S. Naval War College (NWC) Naval Staff College leads staff, students and faculty of the Centro de Estudios Superiores Navales (CESNAV) on a tour onboard Naval Station Newport, May 19, 2026. Staff, students and faculty of CESNAV engaged with key NWC faculty in a series of discussions and briefs regarding the past, present and future state of naval warfare. Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to hedge aggressively, innovate continuously, fight distributively, delegate confidently, and command with clarity within complex battlespaces.
