After completing my higher secondary education, I embarked on the challenging journey of securing a seat in a reputable engineering college. Like many aspiring engineers, I appeared for the JEE Mains exam but unfortunately did not achieve the results I had hoped for. Undeterred, I explored other state entrance exams, including the MHTCET for Maharashtra and Comedk for Karnataka.
My performance in Comedk was below my expectations, which was a setback. However, my MHTCET results were more promising, earning me a rank that secured a seat at Cummins College of Engineering for Women in Nagpur, one of the top engineering colleges for women in Maharashtra. Despite this opportunity, the location was too distant from my hometown, and my parents were not comfortable with me moving so far away. Consequently, I had to decline the offer.
Simultaneously, I applied for JAC counseling through my JEE Mains results, hoping to gain admission to one of the Delhi University colleges that were accepting students through this process back in 2021. In January 2022, during the fourth round of counseling, I was offered a seat at IGDTUW. However, the branch offered was not of my preference, and the timing of the offer made it less appealing since the academic year was already well underway.
In the midst of these efforts, I had also applied to Chandigarh University. In the last week of October 2021, I received an admission offer from them with my desired branch in Computer Science. Additionally, I was awarded a 50% scholarship on my tuition fees after successfully clearing their entrance test, CUET. This scholarship was a significant factor in my decision, as it alleviated a substantial part of the financial burden.
With my desired course and a scholarship, I decided to commit to Chandigarh University. I was determined to make the most of this opportunity and give my best effort. Adjusting to the large number of students in each batch was initially overwhelming, but I remained focused on my studies and strived to excel.
Now, I am fully immersed in my academic pursuits at Chandigarh University, giving 100% to my coursework and navigating the challenges of a competitive environment. My journey has been filled with highs and lows, but each experience has shaped my resilience and determination to succeed.
