NIT Surat Admission Experience for M.Tech

Hello everyone!

I’m here to share my m.tech admission experience at the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (GJ). Currently, I’m a second-year student pursuing Mtech in Computer Science & Engineering at SVNIT Surat. I secured admission based on my Gate Score, which is the qualifying exam for entry into NITs, IITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. I enrolled in college in 2023, coinciding with the introduction of Computer Science & Engineering as a department, alongside, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, previously the only branches available at SVNIT Surat.

Eligibility Criteria:

Admission into SVNIT Surat requires qualifying for the undergraduate (B. E./B. Tech) and Gate Exam. Each college sets its opening and closing score for different branches, and meeting the cutoff range secures admission to the respective branch.

Application Process:

The admission process comprises two phases: an online phase and an offline phase. In the online phase, known as CCMT counseling, gate exam-qualified students select their college preferences and branches. If their score falls within the cutoff range for their chosen branch, they receive admission. The offline phase involves reporting to the college and submitting the necessary documents to confirm admission.

My Experience:

Getting admission in SVNIT surat is not an easy task.It took me 4 years to complete my B.Tech and then sit for GATE exam to qualify for M.Tech.I started my preparation in the third year of my college and the difficulty level in GATE exam is quite high and also only qualifying will not work until and unless you get a good reputed college.

Reasons for Choosing SVNIT Surat:

My decision to opt for SVNIT Surat stemmed from a combination of college preference and my score. I choose NIT Surat due to its impressive placement statistics and, facilitating access to top tech domains. Although SVNIT surat was established in 1961, its continually improving placement statistics make it an attractive choice for students.
