Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
I am writing this article to share my lateral entry admission experience through the LEEP (Rajasthan Lateral Entry in Engineering Program) exam in 2022. Typically, admission to authorized engineering colleges requires a JEE rank score, but there is an alternative path through LEEP(In Rajasthan). Here are some criteria for admission:
Eligibility: Students should have completed their diploma or B.Sc. (Bachelor in Science) without any backlogs (failures in any semester). Marks and Cutoffs: There are specific marks and cutoff requirements to get the desired engineering branch (e.g., Computer Science).
In my case, I completed my diploma from Government Polytechnic College, Jodhpur in the Petroleum Branch. I applied for the Computer Science Branch for admission. The application process began in mid-July. Students need to fill out the LEEP form and pay a fee (in my case, it was 600 INR) through the LEEP website.
All the instructions are given in the form description accordingly (e.g., Documents, timing, etc.).
Students can attach their EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate if they belong to the General Category. During the application, students need to select their preferred colleges and respective branches. After submitting the LEEP form, the merit list is released after some time (usually 10-15 days). This list indicates the allotted colleges and branches.
In my case, I was allotted the Computer Science branch at Mugneeram Bangur Memorial College, Jodhpur (now a university). Students must present themselves at the college for document verification.
Note: There is no counseling process. If a student is allotted a college or branch, it is permanent. Unlike some other admission processes, there is no option to change or upgrade the allocation.
My seniors were very helpful, and I successfully secured my Computer Science branch. I am currently in my 3rd year.
Key Points to Remember:
Thank you, and I hope you find these insights helpful.
