My journey began with extensive research about various engineering colleges. I was particularly drawn to Sri Sairam Engineering College because of its strong reputation in the field of Computer Science, good placement records, and modern campus facilities.
Admission to Sri Sairam Engineering College requires taking the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) exam, which is based on the marks obtained in the higher secondary examinations. I focused on securing high marks in my 12th grade, especially in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
I filled out the TNEA application form online, providing my academic details, personal information, and preferred courses and colleges. Sri Sairam Engineering College was my top choice. The TNEA application process included a detailed academic history and a preference list for colleges. I had to carefully consider and rank my choices, ensuring that Sri Sairam Engineering College was listed as my first preference.
Based on my higher secondary exam marks, I was invited for the TNEA counseling session. This session was crucial as it determined the allocation of seats in engineering colleges across Tamil Nadu. During the counseling session, I was provided with real-time updates on seat availability. The atmosphere was intense as candidates made quick decisions based on available information. I secured a seat in the Computer Science program at Sri Sairam Engineering College due to my high marks and early counselling date.
After securing a seat, I had to report to the college for document verification. I submitted my original certificates, including my 10th and 12th mark sheets, transfer certificate, and community certificate. The college organized a well-structured document verification process. Each student was assigned a specific time slot to avoid overcrowding. The staff were helpful and provided clear instructions, making the process smooth and efficient.
Once the admission was confirmed, the college organized an orientation program for new students. This program introduced us to the college culture, academic expectations, and resources available on campus.
