BIT Sindri Campus Experience for B.Tech IT (2024-2028)

Batch: 2024-2028 (Currently in 2nd Year)

I am currently pursuing my B. Tech in Information Technology from BIT Sindri. Being one of the premier government engineering colleges in Jharkhand, the campus life here is a unique blend of academic pressure and unforgettable hostel memories. My journey so far has been a rollercoaster of finding passion, making memories, and learning life lessons.

About the Campus: BIT Sindri has a lush green campus with a rich legacy. The environment is student-friendly, and the hostel life is the heart of this institution. From the technical clubs to the vibrant student culture, there is always something happening on campus.

First-Year Journey:

When I joined the college in my first year, everything felt new and exciting. Initially, I had a massive friend circle. We used to hang out in groups, explore the campus, and, naturally, bunking classes became a thrill we frequently enjoyed. The first year was mostly about exploring freedom and enjoying the new college vibe rather than worrying about CGPA. However, as the year progressed, I realised that not everyone you meet stays with you.

Second-Year Experience (Current):

Now that I am in my second year, things have changed significantly.

Friend Circle: My large group of friends has shrunk. I now have very few close friends with whom I genuinely talk; with the rest, the interaction is mostly transactional (work-related).

Academics vs. Passion:

This year became a turning point for me. I realised that my interest lies more in coding than in the regular academic syllabus. I have started dedicating most of my time to coding and improving my tech skills, often prioritising it over college coursework.

• Hostel Life & Environment: If you ask me about the best part of BIT Sindri, it has to be the hostel life. It is chaotic but fun.
• Exam Night Vibes: You wouldn't believe it, but even if we have an exam the next day, we are often found playing games till 2:00 AM!
• Stress Busters: Whenever we get bored while studying (or pretending to study), we just start dancing with roommates. These random moments make the stress bearable.
• Placements: Since I am currently in my second year, I haven't sat for placements yet. However, seeing the seniors and the coding culture around me, I am focusing entirely on building my skills to grab a good opportunity when the time comes.
