Pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at GLA University, Mathura, has been an enriching and memorable journey. Currently in my second year, I’ve experienced the institution's dynamic academic programs, vibrant campus life, and the serene backdrop of Mathura—a perfect combination for holistic growth.
Starting my college life was both exciting and intimidating. The first year presented challenges as I adjusted to the rigorous B.Tech curriculum and a new environment. Gradually, I gained confidence, delved into computer science, and began to enjoy the steep learning curve.
Supportive faculty and world-class infrastructure made understanding even the most complex concepts manageable. So far, I’ve developed not only technical skills like programming and algorithms but also essential life skills like critical thinking and teamwork.
GLA University strikes a fine balance between academic rigor and creative freedom. The campus boasts modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and spacious hostels, all nestled in a lush green environment. This serene setting promotes both concentration and relaxation, creating an ideal learning atmosphere.
One of the most enriching aspects of GLA is its diverse student body, which fosters cultural exchange and new perspectives. The approachable and experienced faculty are always ready to guide students academically and personally, making the learning process smoother.
GLA’s annual events and hackathons add vibrancy to campus life. Technozion, the annual tech fest, stands out with its engaging workshops, coding competitions, and tech talks, drawing participants from across India. These events are not only enjoyable but also serve as a platform to learn, network, and collaborate.
Participating in hackathons has been a highlight of my journey. Solving real-world problems with peers from diverse disciplines has honed my innovation and teamwork skills, making these experiences invaluable.
One of GLA’s strengths is its robust placement cell, which invites companies from various industries for recruitment. As a second-year student, I’m already preparing for the placement season by attending workshops and building my skills in coding, problem-solving, and interview preparation.
The university’s consistent focus on industry readiness is evident in the training sessions, aptitude tests, and mock interviews organized to prepare students for competitive job markets.
At GLA, learning goes beyond textbooks. Interacting with peers and professors has helped me approach problems methodically and think critically. Exposure to modern tech tools and frameworks has enhanced my practical knowledge, while balancing academics and extracurriculars has taught me the importance of time management.
However, I believe there’s room for improvement. More opportunities for research, hands-on projects, and industry interaction could further elevate the learning experience. While GLA provides great resources, increasing real-time industry exposure would make it even more impactful.
What I love most about GLA is the freedom to explore. From delving into new tech topics to participating in diverse events, the atmosphere encourages innovation and creativity.
On the flip side, I feel the administrative processes could be streamlined, and there’s a need for more industry-aligned projects in the curriculum.
GLA University has been a wonderful place for both academic and personal growth. With its supportive environment, vibrant campus life, and emphasis on holistic development, it has provided me with a solid foundation. I’m excited to continue my journey, exploring new ideas and opportunities in the field of computer science.
