Hey there,
I wanted to share some details about the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) with you. It's a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB). If you're aiming to get into undergraduate courses in engineering, pharmacy, or other professional courses offered by various colleges in Gujarat, this exam is your gateway.
To take the GUJCET exam, you need to have passed the final year of the 12th standard or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology as compulsory subjects. You must also be an Indian national with a domicile in Gujarat.
The GUJCET is conducted offline, using pen and paper, and it features multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology. The exam lasts for 3 hours (180 minutes) and includes:
Each correct answer earns you a +1 mark, while each incorrect answer results in a -0.25 mark deduction (negative marking). No marks are awarded for questions left unattempted. So, the total marks for the exam are 120. Generally, the exam is considered to be of easy to moderate difficulty, and with good preparation, you can do well.
Complete Syllabus: Check out the official syllabus provided by GSEB on their website, usually based on the NCERT books. List topics and chapters that carry more weight and prioritize them, but don't skip any topics—cover the entire syllabus.
Study Plan: Create a daily routine that covers the entire syllabus, giving equal importance to each subject and focusing more on high-scoring topics. Make sure you understand the concepts thoroughly, and use reference books to deepen your knowledge.
Practice: Work on expected questions from reference books and previous years' papers as much as possible. Try to take mock tests and solve sample papers daily. This will help boost your confidence and speed.
Time Management: It's crucial to manage your time well during the exam. Don't get stuck on one question for too long. In chemistry, the organic and inorganic parts are less time-consuming, while physical chemistry will require more calculations. Similarly, physics and mathematics will need more time for calculations. Practice being both fast and accurate.
Revise: Finish the syllabus well before the exam date and start revising, taking mock tests, and strengthening any weak areas. Daily revision is key to retaining what you've studied.
Keep a positive mindset while preparing for GUJCET. Long study sessions can be exhausting, so remember to take breaks. Engage in physical activities, meditate, limit screen time, and spend quality time with loved ones to relax. Stay calm and confident during the exam, trust in your preparation, and believe in yourself. You've got this!
