GUJCET Exam Experience

Last Updated : 31 May, 2024

My journey toward engineering began with a strong focus on the JEE Mains and Advanced exams, aiming to get into top institutes like NITs and IITs. During this time, I was in a busy schedule with school and coaching classes, preparing for both board exams and engineering entrance tests. To keep my options open, I filled out forms for various engineering exams, including GUJCET.

As the board exams got closer, I shifted my preparation from JEE to board-focused studies about a month before the exams. Even though the syllabus for JEE and board exams was similar, the difficulty levels were different. JEE required solving complex problems along with fundamental questions, while GUJCET focused mainly on basic concepts similar to the NCERT syllabus. I had to be careful to take note of important points and review them before the exams.

When I received my GUJCET admit card, I was glad to see that the exam center was not far from my home. On the exam day, I arrived early, found my desk, and stayed calm and composed as I waited for the exam to begin.

I decided to follow my JEE exam strategy by starting with the mathematics section, then moving to chemistry, and finishing with physics. I found all sections to be fairly easy, especially mathematics and chemistry, though there were a few tricky questions. The chemistry section had some questions that required memorization, which I managed to recall and answer, while I tried to solve the rest. The physics section was also not too difficult this time.

Overall, I had a good experience with the GUJCET exam. When the results came out, I was happy to see that I had scored about 99.5 percentile, which made me very satisfied with my performance. I did make a few silly mistakes, and I believe that if I had avoided them, I could have scored even higher.

This experience taught me the importance of adapting my study strategies for different exams and boosted my confidence in handling various academic challenges.

Tips for Cracking GUJCET

  1. Understand the Syllabus: Make sure you are familiar with the GUJCET syllabus, which is based on the NCERT curriculum. Focus on the basic concepts and fundamentals.
  2. Regular Revision: Regularly revise important concepts and formulas. This will help in retaining information and recalling it during the exam.
  3. Practice Previous Papers: Solve previous year's GUJCET papers to get an idea of the exam pattern and the types of questions asked. This will also help in time management.
  4. Mock Tests: Take mock tests to understand exam conditions. This will help in building speed and accuracy.
  5. Focus on Weak Areas: Identify your weak areas and work on them. Spend more time practicing topics that you find difficult.
  6. Balanced Preparation: While preparing for JEE, ensure that you also allocate time for GUJCET preparation. The level of questions might be easier, but thorough preparation is key.
  7. Stay Calm and Composed: On the exam day, stay calm and composed. Arrive at the center early and avoid last-minute cramming.
  8. Exam Strategy: Have a clear strategy for the exam. Decide the order in which you will attempt the sections based on your strengths.

By following these tips and maintaining a consistent study routine, you can improve your chances of performing well in the GUJCET exam.
