The year 2022 marked a turning point in my life as I embarked on the challenging yet transformative path of preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). This journey was a mix of setbacks, perseverance, and self-discovery, deeply influenced by the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic and my determination to build a better future.
The JEE is a two-stage exam:
The exam evaluates a student’s grasp of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics through application-based and conceptual questions. Preparing for it requires deep understanding, strategic planning, and rigorous practice.
My preparation began with challenges. Having struggled with focus during classes 11 and 12 due to the pandemic and online classes, I faced significant knowledge gaps. By 2022, I was enrolled in a private engineering college, but I decided to retake the JEE for better opportunities.
Balancing college studies and JEE preparation was demanding but essential. I took online coaching, dividing my day between morning college lectures and evening self-study sessions. The cornerstone of my preparation was solving mock tests and previous years’ papers to familiarize myself with the exam pattern and difficulty level.
The JEE syllabus is vast and rigorous, requiring careful planning and consistent effort. Each subject posed unique challenges:
Focusing on these critical topics helped me improve my JEE Main score in 2023 compared to my previous attempt.
While I did not secure admission to an IIT or NIT, my journey was far from a failure. My improved JEE Main score in 2023 reflected the hard work and resilience I developed along the way. I chose to continue my studies at the same private college, keeping my aspirations alive.
This experience taught me the value of consistency, resilience, and self-discipline. The challenging syllabus and demanding questions pushed me to my limits, making me more determined than ever.
For anyone preparing for JEE, my advice is simple:
Remember, success isn’t just about cracking an exam—it’s about the growth and transformation you undergo along the way.
